AXA IM-Real Assets – Andrew Stainer has been appointed to the new role of head of Northern Europe. Stainer will oversee all transactions and business operations within the UK, Germany, the Nordic region, Switzerland and Central and Eastern Europe. Joining from Carters Hill Group in Sydney Australia, Stainer has also worked for Goldman Sachs, JBWere and Deutsche Bank. Based in London and Cologne, he will report to Anne Kavanagh, global head of asset management and transactions. Nathalie Charles, currently pan-European development leader and head of Southern Europe, adds the Netherlands and Benelux to her responsibilities.
Brunswick Real Estate – Peter Wiwen-Nilsson is to lead a new hotels venture. Wiwen-Nilsson joins from JLL. He is the former deputy chief executive at Elite Hotels. The firm’s new Alternative Strategies arm will be run by Karim Sahibzada and Tobias Emanuelsson. Sahibzada was co-founder of Hemfosa Fastigheter, while Emanuelsson was co-founder of Scandinavian Property Group.
Hermes Investment Management – Robert Wall has been appointed infrastructure partner, reporting to Peter Hofbauer, head of infrastructure. Based in London, Wall joins from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, where he has worked for the past nine years in Toronto and London.
CBRE Capital Advisors – Caroline James has joined as a senior director in equity placement, joining from First Avenue Partners. Alex Dewey, formerly a member of the real estate corporate finance team at EY, has joined as an equity placement director.
Savills – Niek Poppelaars and Douglas van Oers have been appointed associate directors for industrial agency services. Poppelaars has worked for DTZ and Valad, while van Oers was previously at David Hart Group.
