Isabelle Scemama has been appointed chief executive of AXA Investment Managers-Real Assets, replacing Pierre Vaquier, who is leaving the firm to pursue other interests.
Vaquier has been with AXA Investment Managers since 1993 and moved to its real estate arm when it was created in 1999. He has led the subsidiary for the past 10 years.
Scemama was previously chief executive of AXA REIM SGP, the French regulated entity of AXA IM-Real Assets. She has been with the company for 15 years.
In 2005, Scemama launched the manager’s commercial real estate debt business.
In 2013, she also took on responsibility for the launch of an infrastructure lending platform.
Laurent Lavergne, currently head of separate accounts, has been given the responsibility for international development in US and Asia.
Timothé Rauly, previously head of commercial real estate finance and core funds, becomes head of funds group.
Andrew Stainer, currently head of northern region, asset management and transactions, is appointed global head of asset management.
