Teacher Retirement System of Texas is investing in UK and US industrial real estate via co-investments with Banner Oak Capital Partners and USAA Equity Advisors as part of $319.5m (€262.4m) worth of new real estate and infrastructure commitments.

The pension fund is investing $49.5m into Banner Oak BOV UK to target opportunistic deals in the UK  and has put $40.4m into the USEF Whisper Pooling co-investment to target core assets in the US.

Texas Teachers said it has placed $150m placed into Harrison Street Real Estate Partners VIII, an opportunistic fund which targets specialised property types like student/senior housing and medical office buildings.

The pension fund has hired Antin Infrastructure Partners for the first time with an €80m commitment into the Antin Infrastructure Partners Mid Cap 1 fund.

According to Texas Teachers, the Antin fund will be investing in international developed markets.
