Teacher Retirement System of Texas has disclosed making a $150m (€127.8m) commitment to Nuveen AG Infrastructure Fund.

SEC filings last month revealed the agribusiness-related infrastructure fund had at the time raised $301m.

According to sources, the core-plus fund is expected to raise more capital by way of co-investments.

AG Infrastructure Fund, which is expected to mostly target US assets, will seek to invest in agribusiness-related infrastructure assets like grain milling and soy processing.

The fund is managed by Nuveen’s subsidiary AGR Partners.

 Real estate commitments

Texas Teachers said it has also approved $100m to PCCP Equity IX, an opportunistic US real estate fund. PPCP did not respond to a request for comment.

The $176bn pension fund confirmed it made a $250m commitment to the SFR JV-2 US single-family rental partnership with Tricon Residential and has also made a $53.9m commitment to USEF Whisper Pooling 2 to target core assets in the US.
