Sustainable infrastructure firm Pioneer Point Partners and Davidson Kempner have teamed up to invest in an Irish data centre platform.
Pioneer said they are backing Echelon Data Centres, a company which has up to a €1bn investment programme across two sites in Ireland totalling 184MW in capacity and has a further pipeline both in Ireland and in Europe.
The investment by Pioneer and Davidson Kempner will be focussed on the delivery of the energy infrastructure required for the data centres, which includes grid infrastructure, renewable energy projects and backup power generation.
