Newmark GroupBarry Gosin will step down as chief executive on 31 December 2026 to serve as chairman of operating company Newmark & Company Real Estate through 2029, where he will focus on strategic initiatives and support the firm’s leadership transition. Gosin, who has served as chief executive since 1979, guided the commercial real estate advisor through its initial public offering in 2017 and drove annual revenue growth of more than 1,400% since 2011, expanding the organisation to over 10,000 professionals across 195 locations. In his ongoing role, he will support Newmark’s target of executing its next phase of growth while the board selects a new chief executive by the end of the year.

ArupJee Mee Kim-Diaz has been appointed as Americas East geography leader to drive the firm’s growth across the region. Kim-Diaz joins from Arcadis, where she served as New York City metro area city executive, overseeing complex urban development and infrastructure projects. She previously held the role of chief strategy officer at the New York City Department of Transportation. With nearly 30 years of experience in the built environment, she will support Arup’s target of driving business growth and delivering integrated engineering, planning and advisory capabilities, focusing on transportation, civic infrastructure and sustainable urban development across the Eastern US.  

TODAY Real Estate DevelopmentRick Niemeijer has been appointed as CEO to lead the firm’s European growth strategy and international expansion in the light industrial real estate sector. Niemeijer joins from BNP Paribas Real Estate, where he served as CEO of the Dutch business, and previously held various senior leadership positions across the firm since 2008. In his new role, he will support TODAY Real Estate Development’s target of becoming a leading developer and long-term investor in light industrial real estate, focusing on expanding its footprint across Europe. Charlotte de Mos has been appointed as marketing director to lead the company’s international positioning and corporate communications. De Mos joins from Savills Netherlands, where she served as head of marketing and business intelligence, leading marketing, PR, research and innovation functions. In her new role, she will support TODAY Real Estate Development’s target of building a distinctive brand and market position, focusing on brand development and commercial capabilities as the firm accelerates its European footprint.

Atmos Energy CorporationJames H Jeffries IV has been appointed to the board of directors, effective 1 September 2026, where he will support the firm’s strategic planning and governance as the company continues to focus on safe, reliable natural gas utility operations. Jeffries joins from McGuireWoods, where he served as a partner for eight years prior to his retirement, bringing over three decades of legal experience advising public and private companies in the natural gas utility sector. In his new role, he will support Atmos Energy’s target of enhancing board oversight and driving long-term value across its natural gas distribution operations.  

Cairn HomesPat Farrell has been appointed as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 October 2026, where he will support the firm’s board refreshment strategy as the company continues to scale. Farrell joins from Irish Institutional Property, where he served as chief executive, overseeing a representative body for institutional investors with approximately €20bn invested across Ireland. He previously held the role of head of group communications and government relations at Bank of Ireland, and was chief executive of Banking & Payments Federation Ireland. In his new role, he will support Cairn Homes’ target of strengthening its position as the leading Irish homebuilder, focusing on strategic expansion and stakeholder engagement in complex regulated environments.

Capital Square Housing TrustGus Remppies has been appointed as president to lead the expansion of its portfolio of housing communities across high-growth Southeastern markets. Remppies joins from Capital Square Living, where he served as president, overseeing the growth of the property management platform to more than 13,000 apartment homes across 58 properties in 23 markets. He previously held the role of executive vice president and chief investment officer at Cornerstone Realty Income Trust, overseeing the acquisition and development of more than 30,000 units, and co-founded Landmark Apartment Trust. With over 30 years of experience, he has been responsible for the acquisition and financing of approximately 75,000 apartment units during his career. In his new role, he will support Capital Square Housing Trust’s target of scaling its portfolio and accelerating growth for shareholders through value-add multifamily and build-for-rent acquisitions. Whit Huffman has assumed the role of CEO, having previously served as president and chief investment and strategy officer at Capital Square Housing Trust. In his new role, he will support Capital Square Housing Trust’s target of guiding the REIT through its next phase of expansion.

Kilroy Realty CorporationEliott Trencher has been appointed interim chief financial officer and treasurer following the departure of Jeffrey Kuehling. Trencher, who joined Kilroy Realty in 2017, has served as chief investment officer since 2020 and previously held the role of chief financial officer from 2022 to 2024. In his interim position, he will oversee financial leadership and treasury functions while executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates conducts a search for a permanent chief financial officer, supporting the firm as it reaffirms its full-year 2026 guidance.

AEW UK REITKavita Patel has been appointed as an independent non-executive director to lead board oversight on corporate, regulatory and governance matters following the retirement of Katrina Hart. Patel joins from Shakespeare Martineau, where she served as partner and head of investment funds, and was previously a member of Ampa Holdings. With 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, she established a track record in advising on retail and institutional corporate matters and currently serves as chair of Foresight Enterprise VCT. In her new role, she will support AEW UK REIT’s target of maintaining strong corporate governance and board leadership, focusing on providing strategic direction across its real estate investment portfolio.

The Hill GroupJohn Fitzgerald has been appointed as managing director for its Eastern residential and Western regions to lead the firm’s senior leadership team as it continues the next phase of its five-year growth strategy. Fitzgerald joins from Telford Homes, where he served as group managing director, and previously held roles at Furlong Homes and Willmott Dixon Construction. With more than 35 years of experience across construction and residential development, he established a track record in leading complex organisations, developing talented people and driving operational excellence. In his new role, he will support The Hill Group’s target of doubling annual turnover to £2.3bn by 2030, focusing on creating additional leadership capacity, strengthening operational performance, and delivering key regional developments.  

Pallas CapitalDarren Rix has been appointed as head of credit risk to lead the firm’s dedicated senior credit risk function following sustained growth in its UK team and lending pipeline. Rix joins from Hampshire Trust Bank, where he served as head of real estate credit risk, and previously held senior credit roles at two start-up non-bank lenders as well as Barclays, Bank of Scotland and Santander. With 37 years of banking experience, he established a track record in corporate real estate and managing credit risk across multiple market cycles. In his new role, he will support Pallas Capital’s target of building the business into a formidable lender and go-to name in real estate finance, focusing on overseeing application processes, credit papers and lending decisions for SME and mid-level developers.

AM Sci TechGillian Sidey has been appointed as in-house lawyer at Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks to lead transactional legal activities across the business. Sidey joins from private practice, where she held roles with national and international firms, advising on transactional real estate including financing, corporate real estate acquisitions, disposals and leasing matters. Throughout her career, she established a track record in delivering commercially focused legal advice on complex property transactions and building trusted stakeholder relationships. In her new role, she will support AM Sci Tech’s target of evolving and enhancing its offering at the energy and innovation parks, focusing on advising on lettings, acquisitions and disposals alongside park management and retained agents.
