Guild Living – Legal & General’s new retirement housing business has appointed Chris Bamford as care operations director, Mike Maxwell as construction director, Patrick Heesen as director of marketing and Alexander Spencer as sales director. Bamford joins from the healthcare sector, where he has worked for both private and not-for-profit providers across the UK. He will be responsible for developing an integrated wellness strategy. Maxwell joins from Lovell Partnership where he was regional operations director. At Guild Living, Maxwell will establish a development programme, driving efficiencies in purchase and procurement, alongside management of governance and construction. Heesen joins from Marriott International where he was director of marketing. Heesen will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of fully integrated marketing and brand strategies at Guild Living. Heesen will work alongside Spencer, who joins Guild Living with sales experience in Australia.
ATP Real Estate – The property arm of Danish pension fund ATP, ATP Real Estate, is appointing Martine Prince as its new chief legal officer and Kent Traulsen as its new project development officer. Prince joins the firm from her current position as a lawyer at Danish law firm Gorrissen Federspiel. She also previously worked for Danish shipping logistics company AP Møller-Mærsk as a business lawyer. Traulsen is joining ATP Real Estate from his current job as head of development at Danish property asset manager DEAS Asset Management, where he is responsible for both residential and commercial projects. He also previously worked for Nordea Real Estate Investment as technical director and Danish property developer Sjælsø Gruppen, where he was housing and project development manager. Both appointees will take up their new roles at ATP Real Estate after the summer.
Catalyst Capital – The European real estate manager has appointed Richard Peskin as a consultant. Peskin was the long-time chairman of Great Portland Estates until his retirement in 2009 and then chairman of Internos Global Investors for nine years until its acquisition by Principal Global Investors in April 2018.
American Realty Advisors – Mike Ibarra has joined the fund manager as senior vice-president, investor relations. In this role, Ibarra will be working with the firm’s professional team in expanding the firm’s sales and client service efforts for the firm’s Taft-Hartley relationships on the West Coast. Prior to joining American Realty, Ibarra was responsible for the development and execution of new impact investment products at Amalgamated Bank. Prior to that, he was a senior vice-president at Landon Butler & Co. He currently serves on the governing board and steering council for Heartland Capital Strategies, is a member of the board of CityCraft Foundation, and a member of the steering committee for the Impact Finance Center.
Cromwell Property Group – The real estate manager has appointed Jitse Mulder to head of property management Europe. In this role, Mulder will undertake strategic leadership responsibilities and improve collaboration of teams working across Europe. Additionally, he will develop and promote a consistent platform-wide approach in conjunction with local property managers and leveraging existing relationships with Cromwell’s tenant customers. Mulder joined Cromwell Property Group in 2003 as a controller in the finance and control department, progressing to property finance manager and since 2016 acting as head of property management, Benelux.
Stenprop – The UK multi-let industrial property company has promoted Will Lutton to head of investment. Lutton joined Stenprop as investment manager in June 2017 as part of the acquisition of C2 Capital. In his new role as head of investment he will lead on all UK acquisitions and disposals. He started his career at Land Securities Trillium (now Telereal Trillium) in 2009 where he helped grow the UK investment portfolio, focusing on regional industrial and office investment opportunities.
Glenhawk – The UK property lender appointed Caroline Ong as non-executive director. She will provide strategic operational and governance counsel to the Glenhawk leadership team as it targets further loan book growth, additional funding sources and new product launches.
LPP – the local pensions partnership has bolstered the infrastructure team within its in-house investment business with the appointment of Colin Simpson as part of a trio of new hires. The former Amber Infrastructure investment director will head LPP Investments’ infrastructure asset management. LPP has also appointed Katya Romashkan as portfolio manager in the infrastructure team and Matthew Course as client portfolio manager, joining as a senior member of the strategy team. Romashkan will be responsible for origination, execution and management of the group’s infrastructure investments. Prior to joining LPP, Romashkan spent 10 years working for Balfour Beatty Investments. Course will work with the in-house investment teams to oversee the management of client portfolios. Before joining LPPI, Matthew spent time with Legal & General Investment Management, Mercer Investments and most recently with XPS Pension Group as a senior investment consultant.
DIF – The infrastructure fund manager has expanded its network into Latin America with the appointment of Daniel Aninat to head a new office in Chile. Aninat joins the office as a managing director. He joins from Scotiabank, where he headed the Chilean corporate banking division. Before that, he was head of project and acquisition finance for Santander in Chile. DIF said Luis Hinojosa, senior director in DIF’s Madrid office, will relocate to Santiago. Hinojosa has been with DIF since 2015 and has a broad infrastructure experience, including in different Latin American countries.
