Cromwell Property –  The real estate fund manager has appointed Lara Young as head of ESG. Young is currently the chair of the Carbon Champion Review Panel, which is convened by the Institution of Civil Engineers. She also worked as the climate change director at Costain where she helped establish and implement its climate change action plan.

Barings – The global real estate investment manager has made several appointments in Germany and the Netherlands. Jochen Becht, Leon Kräuter, Nikolaus Trotzky, and Viktor Ophoven have all joined the German real estate equity team and are based in Frankfurt. Becht joins as a director in asset management. Most recently, he ran development and asset management portfolios at Corestate. Kräuter joins as an analyst in asset management from Deutsche Invest Immobilien, where he was also part of the asset management team. Ophoven and Trotzky both join the transaction management team. Trotzky joins as a senior associate from LGT Capital Partners. Ophoven started as an associate and joined from Peakside Capital, where he focused on value-add transactions. Rens Versteeg joins the Benelux real estate asset management and transactions team as a senior analyst. Versteeg joins from the Havenstad Group where he was an investment manager.

Trammell Crow Company – The global real estate developer has appointed Agata Moreau as development director and Cyril Bouazdi as construction manager for France. The new appointments coincide with the company’s first site acquisition in France – an 11-hectare site in Appoigny on which a grade-A logistics asset will be developed. Moreau joins from Panattoni where she was head of asset and transaction management. Bouazdi worked for PRD Company, specialising in the development, promotion and construction of several programmes.

KanAm GrundManuel Hein has been appointed associate director, head of sustainable asset strategy at the German real estate fund manager. He was previously senior technical asset manager in the company’s investment and asset management division. In the newly created position, Hein is responsible for the operational implementation of the sustainability optimisation measures at the property level.

Macquarie Capital – The corporate advisory, capital markets and principal investing arm of Macquarie Group has named Kevin Nobels as a managing director in its infrastructure and energy capital group. In his new role, Nobels will focus on driving investments in infrastructure and energy transition for Macquarie Capital across Latin America. Prior to joining Macquarie Capital, he spent 15 years at McKinsey & Company. As a partner based in São Paulo and energy practice leader in Latin America, Nobels focused on energy-transition strategies and implementation, serving corporate clients across various sectors such as hydrogen, wind power, biofuels, energy efficiency and electrification.

WP Carey – The NYSE-listed net-lease real estate investment trust has appointed Elisabeth Stheeman to its board of directors. She will serve as a member of both the investment and nominating and corporate governance committees. Stheeman is an external member of the Bank of England’s financial policy committee and financial market infrastructure board. She is also the non-executive chair of Edinburgh Investment Trust, a non-executive director of Alstria office REIT-AG and a member of the audit and risk committee for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Stheeman spent nearly 25 years of her executive career at Morgan Stanley in investment banking, capital markets, private equity and real estate.

Vantage Data CentersPurnima Wagle has joined the global leadership team as chief information officer. In the newly created role, Wagle will advance Vantage’s internal technology strategy and drive technological innovation for the company. Wagle’s remit includes overseeing IT, software development, business process improvement and automation systems. She joins the company from DCP Midstream, where she served as CIO and digital transformation leader.

Mileway – The pan-European last-mile logistics real estate company has created new roles and made several promotions within its asset management leadership team. The title of Thomas ten Bokum, who heads the asset management leadership team, will change from head of investment and portfolio management to chief real estate officer. Philip Cridge is being appointed managing director, UK and Ireland, having previously served as country director UK. Tomas Beck will be appointed managing director Nordics, with responsibility for Sweden, Denmark and Finland. He previously served as country director Nordics. Mario Costa will be appointed managing director for Southern Europe, with responsibility for France, Italy and Spain, having previously served as country director Italy. Jacob Goldmann has been appointed country director Sweden, Thomas Lauritsen as country director Denmark and Timo Simolin as country director of Finland. Wouter Dijkman will be promoted to country director for the Netherlands, having previously served as portfolio manager for the Netherlands. Michele Lodigiani will be promoted to country director of Italy, having previously served as regional manager Italy, and will continue to support Costa. Also reporting to Costa is the newly appointed country director for France, Aymeric Canivenc, and Guillermo Ravell, whose role expands to include oversight of Mileway’s managed portfolio in Portugal as country director for Spain and Portugal. Andrew Smith will be promoted to the newly created role of head of property management Europe.

DowningPatrick Walton has been appointed head of risk and portfolio in the property finance team. Walton’s previous roles included head of portfolio management, southern region at Homes England. At Downing, Walton will oversee portfolio and transaction management, and he will bolster the overall credit risk function.

MaxCapBen Woolley, Hugh Thomson and Liam Howley have been appointed to the capital market team as associate directors. Woolley was recently with AMP Capital’s real estate equity team and before that was a consultant with Frontier Advisors. Thomson joins from CBRE, where he was an executive in its capital markets business. Howley joins MaxCap from The SILC Group, a Melbourne-based alternative financial asset group.

Knight Frank – The global property consultancy firm has appointed Joe Otterburn as a partner in its debt advisory team. Otterburn joins Knight Frank from Europa Capital, where he has worked since 2016, most recently as a director heading the asset finance team. As a partner at Knight Frank, Otterburn will focus on helping to grow the debt advisory team, advising clients across both commercial and residential.

BDx Indonesia – The joint venture company of Big Data Exchange, PT Indosat Tbk and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta, has appointed Agus Hartono Wijaya as president director and CEO of BDx Indonesia Jakarta. Wijaya will be tasked to lead and execute BDx Indonesia’s expansion initiatives and growth pipeline throughout Indonesia. He has spent 20 years in development, marketing and operations in data centres. 

Strategis – Angelika Gloy has been appointed to the management board and will be responsible for property management and organisational development across all business units. Gloy has been with the company since 2012, having previously worked for the HIH Group and Patrizia. Stefan Prill has been named authorised signatory. He has been with the company since 2008, and has served as team head of lettings since 2018.
