Frasers Property, Real Utilities, Accord Group, Wafra Europe, Eltel Sweden, Certego Group, EnQuest, ICG, Keppel Capital, Infrastructure Capital Group, Battersea Power Station Development Company, Tristan Capital, Europa Capital
ICG – The global alternative asset manager has appointed Devarshi Das to lead a newly established team to invest in Asia-Pacific infrastructure. Das has been appointed managing director and head of Asia-Pacific infrastructure equity. He previously served as CEO of infrastructure at Keppel Capital Alternative Asset. Former Keppel Capital employees David Richardson and Hector Wang have been appointed managing director and principal respectively. Mark Teoh, also a former Keppel employee, has joined ICG’s Asia-Pacific team as an associate. Isabelle Demir has joined the newly created team as a managing director from Infrastructure Capital Group. ICG’s Asia-Pacific infrastructure team will focus on mid-market transactions, corporate-led deals, and scaling platforms. The appointment of the team is in line with the firm’s commitment to growing its investments in sustainable infrastructure globally.
Europa Capital – The pan-European real estate investment manager has appointed Gwendal Kalkofen to the newly created role of head of real estate finance. Kalkofen will primarily be responsible for sourcing, executing and managing debt financing for Europa Capital’s real estate investments in Europe. Kalkofen, who will be based in Europa Capital’s London office and report to CFO, Kevin D’Arcy, joins from Tristan Capital Partners where he spent the past couple of years as managing director overseeing debt and fund finance. Prior to joining Tristan Capital Partners, Kalkofen was head of real estate finance at Cromwell Property Group where he was responsible for the liquidity and risk management of its European business.
Frasers Property – Paolo Bevilacqua has been appointed group head of sustainability. Bevilacqua was previously the general manager of Real Utilities, an energy retailer and utilities business and owned entity of Frasers Property Australia. Bevilacqua will continue to be based in Sydney, Australia, reporting to group chief corporate officer, Chia Khong Shoong in Singapore. In this newly created role, Bevilacqua will deepen Frasers Property’s environmental, social and governance agenda, working closely with the leadership team and with its business units, as well as exploring strategic partnerships with external stakeholders aligned with the group’s ESG ambitions.
EnQuest – Gareth Penny has been appointed non-executive chairman, replacing Martin Houston who has stepped down from the board. On joining the board, Penny will also become chair of the governance and nomination committee. Penny brings a wealth of board level experience to EnQuest, having chaired both public and private boards. He is currently chairman of Ninety One, having previously been chairman of Norilsk Nickel. Penny also served on the board of Julius Baer Group for 12 years. Penny has extensive experience in extractive industries, having spent 22 years with De Beers and Anglo American, the last five of which he was group chief executive officer of De Beers.
Accord Group – The global real estate strategic investment and capital advisory firm has appointed Alexander Kerscher to lead its new office in Munich, Germany. Kerscher, who previously served as VP of business development at Wafra Europe.
Eltel Sweden – Lars Nilsson has been appointed managing director and will be part of the group management team. Nilsson recently served as CEO of Certego Group. Nilsson succeeds Leif Göransson who will remain with Eltel until 31 March 2023 to secure a smooth transition.
Battersea Power Station Development Company – Sam Cotton, current head of leasing, has been promoted to the newly created position as head of asset management and assumes responsibility for the management of the commercial assets within the estate. Kate Boothman Meier, current head of communications, has had marketing added to her remit, becoming head of communications and marketing, and will now be responsible for all marketing and communications activities across the project. With over 14 years of experience, Cotton joined Battersea Power Station in 2015 from Capco Covent Garden and has been responsible for leading the successful leasing of the Power Station and Electric Boulevard. With over 12 years of experience, Meier has been central in raising the profile of Battersea Power Station throughout her six-year tenure.
