GI PartnersMike Armstrong has rejoined the firm as a managing director of GI Real Estate, and will lead the firm’s technology and science real estate investments. With more than 20 years of real estate and infrastructure investment experience, Armstrong returns to GI Partners from Stream Data Centers, where he most recently served as the company’s chief strategy officer.  Armstrong previously served on GI’s technology and science real estate investment team and was a key contributor in building a large portfolio of data centre, life sciences, and technology properties across the US.

CBRE – Henry Chin has been promoted to global head of research to succeed Richard Barkham who will retire from CBRE at the end of June. Chin most recently served as global COO for CBRE research and head of investor thought leadership. Chin joined CBRE in 2014 as head of research, Asia Pacific, and additionally served as head of research, EMEA from 2019-2020. Before joining CBRE, Chin held senior research and investment strategy positions at PGIM and Deutsche Bank Group. He began his career as lead Asian real estate analyst for DTZ in London.

ALTO Real Estate FundsMichael E Rader has been appointed vice chairman of the investment committee. As president of Prime Rail Interests and Prime 45 Development, Rader has led key partnerships in strategic land and infrastructure projects. Before entering real estate, he gained operations expertise during 13 years at the automotive firm GM and other business ventures.

Blue Owl CapitalRobert Campkin has joined the firm’s European net lease team as a managing director, based in London. Prior to joining Blue Owl, Campkin spent six years at Colliers as head of corporate capital solutions EMEA. Campkin previously served in a range of roles across investment management, capital markets and corporate real estate firms including Swiss-Asia, Pepper Financial Services Group, JLL and Cushman & Wakefield.   

Madison International Realty – The real estate private equity firm has opened its first office in South Korea and appointed Jun Park as head of South Korea. Park will join Madison to lead the advancement of the firm’s interactions with investors in South Korea from the new office in Seoul. Park has more than 14 years of experience in real estate investment, finance and private equity. He joins Madison from Hyundai Marine and Fire Insurance where he led the real asset investment department as a team leader.

Paul Hastings – George Kazakov and Dinmukhamed Eshanov will lead the energy and infrastructure practice’s international team spanning London, Paris and Abu Dhabi.The team will work with energy and infrastructure practice co-chairs Gregory Tan and Rob Freedman, who joined the firm in 2022 in New York, to accelerate the practice’s global growth, as well as a broad range of other practices and geographies. Eshanov, who joined from White & Case, is based in Abu Dhabi and advises on various project development and construction agreements. He also advises on corporate, finance and commercial transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity. Kazakov, based in London, also from White & Case, will focus on private equity M&A and finance transactions in the infrastructure sector, advising funds and financial sponsors on domestic and cross-border acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, co-investments and restructurings. Prior to joining White & Case, Kazakov served as Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners’ global investment counsel.

AzoraJavier Rodríguez-Heredia has been appointed managing partner. Having joined Azora in 2007, Rodríguez-Heredia previously lead the firm’s real estate division, overseeing its €10bn living and commercial real estate strategies and will now be heading the firm’s newly established management board, the new executive body of the company. Azora founders, Concha Osácar and Fernando Gumuzio, will continue to serve as non-executive chairmen and remain active members of the board of directors and the investment committee.

Newmark GroupAndrew Smith and Harriet Bantock have been appointed to the firm’s specialist purpose-built student accommodation multifamily capital markets team in London as a senior leader and senior associate, respectively. Smith was involved in the sale of Pavilion Court in Wembley on behalf of DWS and also sold Scape Dublin. He was formerly the head of student accommodation at Cushman & Wakefield. Bantock was also involved in the sale of Scape Dublin, and her work extends to student accommodation transactions in Europe overseeing over €600m transacted in Spain and Ireland, including standing investments and forward purchases.

Lorimer Capital – The commercial real estate lending platform has appointed Connor Lopes as managing director – asset management. At Lorimer Capital, Lopes will oversee portfolio performance, risk management and loan servicing, ensuring the firm maintains its disciplined investment approach while providing tailored capital solutions for real estate sponsors. Prior to joining Lorimer Capital, Lopes held senior leadership roles at Citi Community Capital.
