Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) has made a $200m (€174.9m) real estate investment via a commitment to a US core-plus data centre fund.

The pension fund said it has approved the commitment to the GI Partners Data Infrastructure Fund, a fund which reportedly had a $1.2bn second close earlier this year. OPERS declined a request for further comment.

According to sources, the data centre fund has a $1.25bn fundraising target.

GI Partners did not respond to a request for comment.
