European private equity firm Charterhouse Capital Partners is investing in France Valley, a €4bn forestry and real assets manager.

Charterhouse said it has agreed to invest alongside France Valley’s founders, Guillaume Toussaint and Arnaud Filhol, and the entire management team. Financial details were undisclosed.

France-based France Valley was founded in 2013. The asset manager offers real estate and natural assets – including forests and vineyards – funds. The business manages over 29,000 hectares of forest in France and Europe, as well as vineyards in Champagne.

Charterhouse said it will support France Valley’s plan to launch new ESG-linked products and expand its natural and renewable assets geographically.

Stephan Morgan, a partner at Charterhouse, said: “Our investment in France Valley is a perfect example of a typical Charterhouse deal – partnering with impressive, entrepreneurial founders to help them accelerate their growth and expand their business.

“When we initiated conversations with France Valley more than a year ago, we were instantly impressed by Guillaume and Arnaud. We look forward to working closely alongside them and the full management team to support the Company at this exciting time in its growth journey.”
