National Grid is selling its US onshore renewables business to Brookfield for $1.74bn (€1.66bn).

National Grid Renewables operates 1.8GW of utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage assets in the US, with an additional 1.3GW under construction.  

National Grid said the sale was “another important step in delivering” its strategy to focus on networks and streamline its business.

London-listed National Grid, in its announcement of results for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2024, said it was evolving its strategy to focus on networks and would therefore sell Grain LNG UK assets and National Grid Renewables, the US onshore renewables business.
