Blackstone has attracted over $1bn (€971m) of commitments into its latest infrastructure investment vehicle Blackstone Infrastructure Strategies (BIS), according to an SEC filing.
The fund will target core and core-plus assets across the transportation, digital, energy and water/waste sectors, and the amount of leverage planned for the investments will not exceed 30%, according to the filing.
Three types of investment structure will be considered for BIS: infrastructure equity, infrastructure credit and secondaries through the purchase of limited partnership interests in existing commingled funds. The main geographic focus will be the US and Europe, although the manager said it would always consider opportunities in Asia, according to the filing.
Blackstone has either invested or committed a total of $1.6bn worth of investments, it added in the filing.
The fund is aimed at high-net worth individuals and retail investors.
