Maine Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) is continuing to invest in data centres with IPI Data Center Partners, committing $25m (€22.1m) to the company’s second fund.

IPI Data Center Partners invests in data centres and other “connectivity-related real assets”, according to its website.

Maine PERS made a $30m commitment to its debut fund in 2017.

IPI Data Centers was established by Iron Point Partners, which manages private equity real estate funds, and Iconiq Capital, known to manage the investments of high-net-worth individuals in Silicon Valley.

Maine PERS also said it made a $30m co-investment with one of its existing infrastructure fund managers, without disclosing the name.

The $14.6bn pension fund has previously committed capital to infrastructure funds managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, KKR and EQT.
