GLOBAL - Hines, Cornerstone, Alinda, Savills, Union Investment, 4IP, Catella, BNP Paribas

Hines - Ross Blair has been promoted to managing director of UK operations, reporting to Hines chief executive for Europe and Middle East Michael Topham. Blair joined the company three years after its launch in 2003, most recently overseeing several of the company's European funds. He previously spent five years at CBRE.

Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers - Iain Reid is to depart as chief executive of European operations in March, with Charles Weeks being named successor. Weeks and Reid have worked together since 1995, with Reid at the time head of BZW Property Investment Management. Since then, they have worked at several other real estate investors, including Barclays and Aberdeen Property Investors, as well as being co-founders of Protego Real Estate Investors in 2004, selling it to Cornerstone in 2010. Nick Pink will assume the role of chief investment officer, with Alex Sutherland named chief financial officer and Peter de Haas becoming head of business development for continental Europe.

Alinda - After four years at Goldman Sachs, Andrew Bishop is to join the infrastructure fund manager as managing director based in the London office, responsible for core infrastructure assets in Europe. Bishop, who has spent 12 years as an investment banker, was managing director for power, utilities and infrastructure investment at Goldman and will join the company in April.

Savills - The French team has expanded with the appointment of David Poole to head the valuation team. Based in its Paris office, he will look to expand Savills' client base. Poole joins from DTZ, where he started his career in 1999.

Union Investment - Volker Noack has seen his role change following an internal reorganisation at Union Investment Real Estate, triggered by the departure of Karl-Joseph Hermanns-Engel. Noack's previous responsibility for fund management has been passed to management board chair Reinhard Kutscher, with Noack assuming responsibility for global property management. Separately, Bernhard Kraus has joined the management team of the company's institutional property subsidy, responsible for securities transactions. He joins from Union Investment Institutional, which he joined four years ago as a director.

4IP - Claudia Reich Floyd and her real estate securities team at Swiss real estate asset manager 4IP have been taken over by Canadian Timbercreek Asset Management. Reich Floyd, and the two analysts Melissa Scott and Daniel Feldmann, will be representing Timbercreek in Switzerland, as the first European office for the Canadian real estate company. Previously, 4IP and Timbercreek have worked together on analysis of the US and European real estate markets.

Catella - Mats Andersson has been appointed managing director at Catella subsidiary Fondförvaltning, replacing Stefhan Klang. Andersson joins from Ålandsbanken in Sweden, where he was also managing director. Klang has stepped down to focus on sales and business development within the company.

BNP Paribas Real Estate - Gerardine Davies has been appointed head of UK investment management. Davies was previously at Aegon Asset Management, where she developed the property fund management business. Before then, she was head of retail property funds at Morley Fund Management.
