Social infrastructure investor AviaRent Invest has acquired a senior care centre in Germany for its open-ended property fund.

The manager said its CareVision IV has acquired the Seniorenzentrum Merseburg asset in Saxony-Anhalt from a fund managed by the Gebau Group for an undisclosed sum.

The property is located at Oeltzschnerstraße 120 and has 216 nursing places in 24 single and 96 double rooms spread over three floors.

The property was built in 2009 and has more than 8,600sqm of usable floor space on a plot of more than 15,000sqm.

Jan-Nikolaus Joeris, transaction manager at AviaRent Invest, said: “Seniorenzentrum Merseburg has a very positive image throughout the wider region and is well known for its modern, comfortable facilities and its unique concept with four residential clusters.

“The property fulfils all of the fund’s investment criteria and enriches our portfolio in Germany’s eastern states.”
