GLOBAL - Brookfield, IntReal, Henderson, Legal & General Property, KCM, Prelios, Foresight, Cornerstone
Brookfield Asset Management - The firm has appointed Julian Schiller as senior vice-president within its global Private Funds Group in London. Schiller will focus on capital raising initiatives for Brookfield's pooled funds, joint ventures and co-investments and report to Leo van den Thillart, managing partner and head of the Private Funds Group. He will look after European and Middle Eastern investors, as well as assist in broader business development activities for the real estate group, working alongside Barry Blattman, senior managing partner.
IntReal International Real Estate - The German KAG has seen Michael Schneider, Klaus Hoffmann and Detlef Mertens assume sole responsibility for running the company. Henning Klöppelt - spokesman for the board of management until the beginning of last month - is to leave the company. Klöppelt will in future focus on his duties as spokesman for the board of Warburg-Henderson KAG. Mertens has been with IntReal since its launch 2009, while Schneider joined a year ago. Hoffmann joined the board in the spring.
Henderson Global Investors - Ilna Patel has joined Henderson Global Investors as assistant portfolio manager for its Central London Office funds (CLOF I and CLOF II). Working alongside fund managers Clive Castle and Nick Deacon, Patel will be based in Henderson's London office. The firm has also appointed Michael Samuel as an asset manager for its North American property business. Samuel will be based in Henderson's Chicago office.
Legal & General Property - The firm has promoted Michael Barrie to director of fund management, Nigel Fuller to senior fund manager of the Life Fund, Gordon Aitchison to director of transactions and development, and Charlie Walker to director of business development. Barrie will now oversee all the balanced funds, following Helen Gordon's departure. In addition, Aitchison has taken responsibility for LGP's development team.
Kempen Capital Management (KCM) - Matthijs Storm will join KCM as head of real estate as of 1 December this year. Storm previously worked for CBRE Clarion Securities as senior portfolio manager in their European Research team for listed real estate companies in London. Prior to that, he worked in real estate research at Fortis Bank Global Markets, while he started his career at Kempen & Co as a real estate analyst.
Prelios - Riccardo Taranto has been appointed chief financial officer. Taranto, who joins from Telecom Italia, where he most recently acted as group compliance officer, will replace Gerardo Benuzzi. At Telecom Italia, he held several managerial positions in administration and control, including those of group controller and chief accounting officer.
Foresight Group - The alternative asset manager has made two new appointments. David Conlon has been appointed as director of the environmental team with a focus on secondary PFI projects. He joins from Aleltho Energy, where he was transaction director. Arnoud Klaren joins from US-based solar technology provider SolFocus. He will initially be based in the firm's Sevenoaks office before relocating to Spain, overseeing the company's Spanish solar PV investments.
Cornerstone Europe - As part of its plan to expand in the Nordic region, Cornerstone has appointed Kristina Johnson as director of asset management, and Martin Kjellström as associate director of portfolio management and transactions. Johnson and Kjellström, who will both be based in the Swedish office, will focus on the Swedish portfolio within the Cornerstone Nordic Retail Fund and the portfolio management and transactions within the Nordic Retail Fund, respectively.
