GLOBAL - Hermes Real Estate Investment Management, Aviva Investors, Cushman & Wakefield, Savills, Homburg Invest, K&L Gates

Hermes Real Estate Investment Management - Nigel Roberts has joined as head of strategy, having left Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was director and chairman of EMEA research.

Aviva Investors - Former Goodman Group fund manager Matthew Woodman has joined as senior fund manager in Aviva Investors' global real estate team. Woodman, who will be based in Sydney, will take the lead on the Australian Logistics fund, which will be launched later this year.

Cushman & Wakefield - Tony Edwards, Simon Wild and Chris Parfitt have joined the southern UK retail agency team. Edwards and Wild join from Jones Lang LaSalle's southern retail agency team, of which Edwards was the head. Both were formerly at UK independent retail firm Churston Heard, which was acquired by JLL in 2008. Parfitt was previously head of leasing at Centros and formerly a director of retail leasing at Prupim.

Savills - Serge Vayer, Christophe de Cambourg and Grégoire Lembo have joined Savills's French office agency department. The appointments are part of an ongoing department expansion strategy that has seen the team double over the past 12 months. Vayer, formerly at BNP Paribas Real Estate, joins as an associate director working with clients in the west Ile de France region. De Cambourg, who spent four years at Cushman & Wakefield's Paris offices, and Lembo, formerly at Lloyds TSB International Private Banking, have joined as consultants covering central Paris.

Homburg Invest - Richard Homburg, founder and controlling shareholder of Homburg Invest, has announced his intention to step down from his roles as chairman of the board, chief executive and director of Homburg Invest. He is to focus on developing a privately owned global real estate venture and is to be joined by Richard Stolle, who is also stepping down from his role of president and chief operating officer at Homburg Invest. Jan Schöningh, who is currently president, North America, will become the new president and chief executive at Homburg.

K&L Gates - The law firm has appointed Edouard Vitry as a partner to head its real estate department in Paris. Vitry joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he headed its real estate department. Vitry advises French and international clients - including real estate funds and companies, banks and insurance companies - on a broad range of real estate matters. He is also joined by counsel Joanna Klat and associate Benjamin Chouai.
