GLOBAL - Allianz Real Estate, Simon Property Group, First State Investments, International, Alpha Real Capital, Savills, Cordea Savills, Redevco

Allianz Real Estate - Mathias Gross has been appointed head of asset management for Germany to help with the restructuring of the firm’s German real estate portfolio. Gross will take on the new role alongside his current position as head of the asset management division responsible for northern Germany and report directly to chief executives Stefan Brendgen and Alexander Gebauer.

Simon Property Group - Retail real estate veteran David Contis will become a senior executive vice-president and president of the company’s mall platform in May. Contis is currently the president of real estate for Chicago-based Equity Group Investments (EGI) and reports directly to EGI founder and chairman Sam Zell.

First State Investments International - Tomas Pedraza, Trygve Refvem and German Gonzalez have joined the European infrastructure investments team. Pedraza joins as director of asset management from Gas Natural/Union Fenosa in Spain. Refvem has been appointed as senior adviser to the team and will provide expertise relating to the oil and gas transmission and distribution sectors. Gonzalez has joined to provide assistance, advice, analysis, strategic planning and consultancy for First State’s European infrastructure business.

Alpha Real Capital - Former Close Investments and Tritax director Anthony Wyld has joined as marketing director of Alpha Real Property Investment Advisers (ARPIA).

Savills - Karim Olivier Lacheheb has joined the retail team in France as a director. He has 16 years experience in the industry, having previously worked at AEW Europe as director of asset management for central Europe.

Cordea Savills - Nick Hayward has been appointed director of institutional business, a role he first held from 2005 to 2008. Hayward joins from JP Morgan Asset Management, where he was a client portfolio manager for real assets in Europe.

Redevco - Adam Starr is joining as managing director for the central European business in June. Starr will succeed Jörg Bitzer, who has covered the role for the past six years. Starr has been working at Redevco since 2002, covering a number of positions, including the leadership of its investment business in the UK. Bitzer will continue to support Redevco Central Europe in an advisory role until the end of the year.
