Mayfair Capital Investment Management - Sarah Bate has been appointed director of research, where she will employ her expertise in top-down economic research and property market monitoring and forecasting. Most recently, Bate was director of European research at Rockspring Property Investment Managers. James Feilden also recently joined Mayfair Capital as assistant asset manager after leaving GVA, where he was a senior surveyor in the London markets team.
Internos Real Investors - The €1.5bn owner-managed real estate fund management business has boosted its European team with several hires across its Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt offices. Harry Hanekamp has been appointed as managing director to provide strategic advice and lead the Dutch office. He is joined by Arjan Niemeijer, who has been appointed as asset manager for the Netherlands. Maudi Bouwmeester also joins the team as office manager. In the UK, Carla Murray has joined as head of corporate services. Justyna Pyrajoins as portfolio manager, while Jimmy Mattrel has been appointed as transactions manager. Alberto Esguevillas has been appointed as asset manager focusing on Spanish and shopping centre assets, Mark Eagles as an IT support engineer. Sarah Davies and Jacqui Hopper join the fund accounting team. In Germany, Lennard Besch joins as an asset manager, while Julian Schneider joins as a transactions analyst.
AREA Property Partners - Rafael Avilés has joined as country partner in Spain following AREA's acquisition of the significant majority of BBVA Spanish property assets last summer, in consortium with RREEF and Europa Capital. Avilés is based in Madrid and will be in charge of identifying and managing new acquisitions in Spain in coordination with AREA's European headquarters in London. He was most recently managing director for Spain at Grosvenor and director of Grosvenor Continental Europe.
AEGON Asset Management - John Dear has joined as assistant fund manager to work alongside Phil Clark, Anne Copeland and Jon Dadswell as part of the indirect property team. Dear joins from CB Richard Ellis, where was an associate director in the hotels capital markets team.
Warburg-Henderson - Henderson Global Investors' joint venture partnership in Germany has hired Daniel Fahrer to be responsible for its new KOOP-fund. He arrives from AXA Investment Managers, where he was employed as a senior fund manager, managing funds across Europe.
ANREV - The Asian association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles has hired Danielle Ko as events manager. Emma Lee has been promoted to membership manager following an increase in membership.
GE Capital Real Estate - Mark Begor is replacing Ron Pressman as president and chief executive of GE Capital Real Estate. Xabier Barrondo has been promoted to the position of Western Europe cluster leader and managing director for France. In this new role, he will manage GE Capital Real Estate's €4bn regional portfolio and lead France, Spain and Italy with a direct oversight of the French platform. He comes to this role following an assignment as managing director for Iberia and has been with GE Capital Real Estate since 2005.
Westfield Group - Frank Lowy, founder and executive chairman of the Australian shopping centre developer and owner, is to assume the role of non-executive chairman from 25 May. Lowy's two sons Peter and Steven will become joint chief executives.
EuropaFeldberg - The European property fund manager has appointed Stephan Schaal to its investment team as investment director. Schaal will be instrumental in launching EuropaFeldberg's new Western Europe core office property fund. He spent more than four years as director of Curzon/AEW.
Savills - Florence Leibovitch-Neu has joined the French valuation department in Paris as a director. Leibovitch-Neu previously worked at BNP Paribas Real Estate Valuation as director of the international department.
UK Government Property Unit - A number of UK real estate leaders have been appointed to an advisory panel for the UK's new Government Property Unit. They include outgoing Segro chief executive Ian Coull, former Lend Lease chief executive David Higgins, ex-Lehman Brothers managing director Gerald Parkes, Morgan Stanley senior property adviser Jonathan Lane and PwC real estate partner Jonathan Lane.
IFM Immobilien - Chief executive Georg Glatzel will continue in the role for another five years, to the end of 2015. The graduate economist and real estate economist founded the company in 2005 and has been chief executive of IFM Immobilien since 2006.
