GLOBAL - Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Corio, Aviva Investors, Apollo Global Management, Madison International, CB Richard Ellis, Cushman & Wakefield, SEB Asset Management

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority - The sovereign wealth fund has appointed Jim Hime as chief financial officer for its real estate department. He will be responsible for overseeing legal, tax and liquidity management at the real estate department. Hime joins from the Lionstone Group in Houston, Texas, where he was principal with responsibility for capital markets and structuring across investment programmes.

Corio - John van Haaren, chief executive of Corio's business in the Netherlands, has reached an agreement with the listed real estate company to end his employment contract. Corio said this was due to differences in opinion regarding the strategy of Corio Nederland. The company will begin looking for a successor.

Aviva Investors - Bart Coenraads has joined to head up and develop the real estate multi-manager business in Asia Pacific. He will be based in Singapore and report to Ed Casal, CIO real estate multi-manager. Coenraads joins from BNP Paribas Investment Partners, where he was CIO and head of real estate, responsible for implementing the investment strategy and building the real estate asset management platform for listed and non-listed real estate. Prior to this, he worked at Mn Services in the Netherlands as senior portfolio manager, international real estate.

Apollo Global Management - The private equity firm has named Marc Spilker to the new position of president. Spilker will oversee Apollo's day-to-day operations and sit on the company's executive committee. Spilker was previously the co-head of investment management at Goldman Sachs, retiring in May.

Madison International - The investment manager specialising in injecting capital into existing real estate investments has hired Bradley Carroll has managing director. Carroll will be responsible for creating and implementing business development strategies and sourcing prospective investments primarily in major metropolitan US markets. Prior to joining Madison, Carroll spent eight years at Tishman Speyer, where he most recently served as managing director, overseeing portfolio and asset management for three emerging market real estate funds.

CB Richard Ellis - Chris van Beek has been appointed as director of real estate finance for CBRE in Asia. Van Beek, based in Hong Kong, will primarily be responsible for capital raising and facilitating secondaries transactions for institutional investors. He will work closely with the real estate finance teams at CBRE globally, including the desks in Beijing, Tokyo, Singapore, London, Amsterdam and the US. Van Beek joins from GFI Colliers in Hong Kong.

Cushman & Wakefield - Tony Edwards and Simon Wild have left Jones Lang LaSalle's southern retail team to join the equivalent at Cushman & Wakefield. They have both been made partners.

SEB Asset Management - Christian Hanke has joined SEB's sales team in Frankfurt as head of institutional sales for real estate. He joins from Aberdeen Asset Management Deutschland AG. Before then, he worked for AMB Generali Asset Managers, DEGI and Aberdeen Asset Management.
