UK - Terry Green is leaving London law firm DLA Piper to head up a major push into Europe for rival real estate lawyers Reed Smith Richards Butler.

Speaking to IPE Real Estate earlier today, Green confirmed he will be leaving DLA Piper’s real estate finance division this summer to join RSRB as head of the European Real Estate Finance group, with specific responsibility for expanding the practice onto the continent.

Green said the aim is to grow the European side of the business as well as support the UK operation once he joins in September.

One of his key roles will be to expand the specialist real estate finance team from RSRB’s global base of 150 real estate lawyers.

Green is well-known in the real estate financing arena, having built a name in cross-border deals and advised banks and funds on property financing. He is also an active board member of the International Real Estate Federation and was president of the body between 2004 and 2006.

His arrival is part of a wider recruitment drive and expansion at Reed Smith Richard Butler as it recently also recruited Rex Rosales from Freshfields and Jeff Drew from Akin Gump.
