AIM-listed Ukrainian property company XXI Century Investments has announced the opening of its Kvadrat Perova shopping centre in the densely populated Kiev district of Voskresenka. Consisting of 19,000 m[sup]2[/sup] of commercial space and 41,000 m[sup]2[/sup] total area Kvadrat Perova is the company's first completed hypermarket gallery format shopping and entertainment complex. Total investment was approximately $41 mln (EUR 25.9 mln).

Consisting of 19,000 m2 of commercial space and 41,000 m2 total area Kvadrat Perova is the company's first completed hypermarket gallery format shopping and entertainment complex. Total investment was approximately $41 mln (EUR 25.9 mln).

The centre includes a supermarket, multiplex cinema, recreation centre for children, a food court for six operators, a shopping gallery with about 100 boutiques, and underground and above-ground parking. Tenants of the fully-leased centre include Intertop, Adidas, Reebok, Colin's Jeans, Sasch, Oggi, Sela and Yves Rocher. Projections are for around 20,000 daily visitors.

Georgiy Tzagareishvili, XXI Century project development director, commented: 'In accordance with the company's development strategy we plan to open Kvadrat shopping centres in all of the major cities in Ukraine. The next to be delivered will be Kvadrat Miloslavska in Kiev and Kvadrat Sevastopol in Crimea, with opening scheduled by 2010.'
