Ukrainian developer XXI Century Investments has received a construction permit for the Kvadrat-Myloslavska shopping centre in Kiev. The centre will have a total area of around 54,000 m2, with a GLA of approximately 34,500 m[sup]2[/sup]. It will also include multi-level parking for 1450 cars.

Ukrainian developer XXI Century Investments has received a construction permit for the Kvadrat-Myloslavska shopping centre in Kiev. The centre will have a total area of around 54,000 m2, with a GLA of approximately 34,500 m2. It will also include multi-level parking for 1450 cars.

Construction is due to start in the first quarter of 2008 and the opening of the project is scheduled for late 2009. When completed, Kvadrat-Myloslavska will be XXI Century Investments' second hypermarket/gallery-style shopping centre in Kiev.

Colliers International developed the commercial concept for the shopping centre which is set to include a 10,000 m2 hypermarket, a gallery of more than 120 shops and approximately 9,500 m2. of entertainment facilities.

XXI Century Investments has also said it is in advanced talks with potential anchor tenants who are interested in leasing space in hypermarket/gallery-style modern shopping centres across the country. These negotiations include an international hypermarket chain, operators of cinema theatres and ten-pin bowling clubs, home electronics supermarkets, large-scale children stores, food court operators and other potential tenants, all of which are major nation-wide chains.
