Swedish pension company Alecta has bought the World Trade Centre in Stockholm from property company Hufvudstaden. Alecta paid SEK 3 bn (about EUR 332 mln) for the shares in Vasaterminalen, Hufvudstaden's subsidiary which owns and runs the WTC centre and TWC Parkering.

Hufvudstaden said the purchase price was based on a value of about SEK 2.6 bn (EUR 287 mln) for the property.

The WTC is on leasehold and has almost 47,000 m2 of rentable floor space. Some 38,500 m2 of the total is office space and about 8,500 m2 is for a restaurant, hotel and conference centre. In addition, there is approximately 11,000 m2 of parking space. Leimdorfer Fastighetsmarknad advised Hufvudstaden on the transaction.

'It is hearting that a new long-term owner is now taking over, which bodes well for continued good service for our tenants,' said Ivo Stopner, president of Hufvudstaden.
