The real estate arm of Czech investment bank Wood & Company has carried out three major office acquisitions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In Bratislava, Slovakia, the company bought the Aupark office building, providing 35,000 m2 over 22 storeys, from US investor Heitman as well as Lakeside Park, a 26,000 m2 office tower developed by Trigranit.
In the Czech capital Prague, Wood & Company acquired the 24,400 m2 Hadovka office park from Europa Capital.
Financial details were not disclosed. However, brokers say the Aupark deal is the largest office transaction in Slovakia for the past seven years.
'The recent acquisitions by Wood & Company's real estate arm reflect growing appetite on the part of Czech and Slovak investors which are starting to compete with international capital,' said Miroslav Barnáš, CEO JLL CZ&SK, which advised the vendor on two deals and provided commercial advisory for the Aupark transaction, which was brokered by CBRE.
Wood & Company has carried out a total of three transactions in Bratislava in the recent past. Vladimír Jaroš, CEO of Wood & Company commented: 'Our goal now is to focus primarily on the Prague office market.'
