Swedish property investor Willhem has acquired 352 newly developed residential units for rent for SEK 595 mln (€63.7 mln).

The Nordic Swan eco-labelled units in Linköping and Karlstad were sold by Bonava, a subsidiary of Swedish construction firm NCC.

The portfolio comprises 221 housing units in Rudsberget, Karlstad, and 131 units in Södra Ekkällan, an area of Linköping under development by NCC since 2006. The first tenants are due to move in during the summer.

'Newly produced rental units with an environmental profile are a good fit with our existing portfolio and this acquisition has further expanded our offering to the market in Karlstad and Linköping,' said Mikael Granath, CEO of Willhem.

Willhem was set up in 2010 by Sweden's first national pension fund and has around 23,000 residential units in 13 locations.
