Construction work on Thornwood Park is set to begin soon. The development will comprise 62 family homes with private gardens, landscaped areas, a community orchard, parking, and a public open space of nearly 1.9 hectares.

Weston Homes incorporated feedback from key stakeholders in their final design.  Thornwood Park will feature a mix of two- to five-bedroom family houses arranged along winding streets and crescents. Notably, 40% of the homes will be designated as affordable housing.

The entire development is designed to create a leafy and sustainable environment.  Homes will have air-source heat pumps and solar panels, and electric vehicle charging points will be available for all residents.  Weston Homes will also be upgrading nearby bus stops for the convenience of the local community.

Bob Weston, chairman and managing director of Weston Homes, said: ‘Weston Homes is delighted by the Reserved Matters Planning Permission which underlines the creation of a new residential scheme of family houses perfect for first-time buyers, young couples, and families. This new development in the London commuter region is part of our ongoing major growth and expansion.’

Weston Homes is bringing nearly 900 new homes to London and the South-East and has plans to launch and develop £310 mln (€363 mln) worth of residential projects in H1 2024 alone.

The developer also has plans for an additional 638 homes in the application stage, bringing their total pipeline to over 1,500 new homes. These additional projects focus on areas within a 15-minute walk of a train station, including greenfield land, brownfield sites, and redeveloping landmark buildings into new homes or mixed-use spaces.
