Real estate specialist lender Westdeutsche Immobilienbank has appointed Rainer Spielmann to succeed Claus-Jürgen Cohausz, who is retiring as CEO.
Real estate specialist lender Westdeutsche Immobilienbank has appointed Rainer Spielmann to succeed Claus-Jürgen Cohausz, who is retiring as CEO.
Spielmann, 58, joined WestImmo in 2005 as head of risk management and was appointed to the management board in 2006.
Cohausz, 62, is stepping down on March 1, having joined WestImmo in 1995 as head of the board office. He has been chairman of the management board since April 2012 and played a key role in overseeing the bank’s acquisition by Aareal Bank Group for €350 mln last year.
Hermann J. Merkens, chairman of the supervisory board of WestImmo, said: ‘Rainer Spielmann is deeply familiar with WestImmo. Thanks to his expertise, experience and personal credibility, he is in an excellent position to lead WestImmo and to successfully conclude its integration into Aareal Bank Group.’
The supervisory board will appoint a replacement for Spielmann on the management board in due course.
