Paul Wessels, co-founder of PropertyNL, sister publication to PropertyEU, has been appointed as research director of the Blue Building Institute Europe (BBI).
Assuming a place on the platform's board, Wessels will advise on BBI’s development of databases and digital tools to provide meaningful, accessible data support of investment in healthy, sustainable buildings.
Wessels has many years of experience in the real estate market as well as co-founding PropertyNL, a leading Dutch media company in the field of real estate information.
'For years it’s been my mission to supply real estate professionals with information and technology which enables them to perform in the best way their profession asks of them,' Wessels said. 'Solid data on health and sustainability are so called drivers optimising the value of a building. Tenants, investors, banks and the public sector need proof that a building indeed meets these drivers.'
The BBI Board is formed by Alexandra Jurgens-Boot (managing director), Ian Davies (strategic director), Dick Vink (technical director), Marcia Schless (advisor marketing & communication), Renske van Santvoort (project manager) and Ann Marie Aguilar, special advisor on behalf of the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
BBI, a knowledge platform, training academy and research foundation, strives to improve population health through better design, funding and management of a healthy and sustainable built environment.
The non-profit platform works in partnership with the IWBI, and acts as a training & education partner to GBCI Europe.
