Anbeek will remain active as CEO until 1 March and stay on with the company to finalise pending commitments until 1 April. Wereldhave said the search for a new CEO will commence soon.

Herman van Everdingen, whose term as member of the supervisory board expires in April 2019, will temporarily support the management team in the role of interim CEO. He will manage the company together with CFO Dennis de Vreede.

Commenting on his resignation, Anbeek said: ‘This is a natural moment for me to leave the company and move on with my career. I believe that with the successful disposal of Itis, the transformation of Wereldhave into a fully focused company is complete.’

He added: ‘I will leave Wereldhave behind as a financially stable and healthy company, with a focused portfolio of convenience shopping centres and a solid organisational platform.’

Euronext Amsterdam-listed Wereldhave focuses on dominant convenience shopping centres in larger regional cities in continental Western Europe. Its portfolio comprises centres in the Netherlands, Belgium and France valued at around €3.6 bn.
