Weerts Logistics Parks and SFRE have begun construction of the Fidenza Logistics Park in Fidenza, Italy.

Fidenza Logistics Park

Fidenza Logistics Park

Located in the province of Parma within the Emilia-Romagna region, this prime location is just 2 kilometres from the A1 motorway and sits near both the Parma and Bologna interports.

The 50,000 m2 property sits on a spacious 108,000 m2 plot and offers exceptional functionality. The building features 64 loading doors for efficient goods handling and a generous clear height of 12 meters under the beam, allowing for optimal storage capacity.

The design of the logistics park prioritizes innovation and sustainability, with a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. The logistics facility is on track to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, signifying exceptional environmental performance.

Several features are incorporated into the design to promote sustainability, including electric car charging stations, LED lighting with smart controls and occupancy sensors, external lighting designed to minimize interference with the Astronomical Observatory, rainwater harvesting systems for irrigation and internal use, and the use of recycled materials.

The project prioritizes a harmonious relationship with the existing environment. Measures to achieve this include extensive tree planting to mitigate air pollution from heavy vehicles (expected to reduce PM 10 by 75%) and careful selection of greenery based on an environmental study.

The project extends beyond the logistics park itself, incorporating a public works program that includes a new road axis, roundabouts, road improvements, parking spaces, and green areas. This holistic approach aims to revitalize the surrounding area.

Construction of the second building, mirroring the size of the first, is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed by March 2025.

The Fidenza project is the first of four underway for Weerts Logistics Parks in Italy, totaling a combined gross leasable area of 260,000 m2. These developments span across Venice (120,000 m2), Bari (50,000 m2), and West Milan (41,000 m2), each aiming for LEED Platinum certification.

Additionally, Weerts Energy, the company's dedicated energy division, will equip the rooftops of these warehouses with a combined 40 MW of solar photovoltaic installations.
