In Madrid, Brookfield continued a Spanish hotel buying spree with the acquisition from Colony Northstar of the Princesa Hotel. The 35,000 m2 tower in the Aquelles district will be remodelled.

In the heart of Hamburg, Tishman Speyer bought the huge block which had been a Kaufhof department store until the shop’s 2020 closure, as the first redevelopment deal for its latest European value add fund.

Two more substantial UK shopping malls hit the market at what would once have been bargain prices: Redditch’s 1 mln sq ft  town centre and Aberdeen’s Union Square.

In London, Chinese investor R&F Properties sold out of a huge residential development near the south bank in Battersea at a substantial loss.

Another big life sciences investment fund raised capital - almost €3bn - for life science parks in Europe and the US. Tishman Speyer is the co-general partner.
