Belgian warehouse developer WDP has announced the acquisition of a total of 300,000 m2 of land bank in The Netherlands in a deal worth €57 mln.
The deal encompasses three sites in Bleiswijk, Schiphol and ‘s-Hertogenbosch, with a total area of 280,000 m2 and 150,000 m2 in overall development potential.
Michiel Assink, director of WDP Nederland said: 'This new land is the ideal starting point for our team to further expand WDP in the Netherlands.'
Under the purchase, WDP has expanded its existing site in Bleiswijk with a 15 ha parcel (in a phased purchase), yielding over 80,000 m2 in development potential.
WDP has also exercised part of its purchase option to acquire some 4 ha of additional land to expand the Schiphol Logistics Park. This plot can accommodate a new 20,000 m2 distribution centre, in addition to the existing buildings leased to Rapid Logistics and Kuehne + Nagel.
Finally, WDP has added ‘s-Hertogenbosch as a new site in its property portfolio. WDP said it plans to build a new warehouse here with an area of around 50,000 m2.
