Warburg-HIH Invest Real Estate (Warburg-HIH Invest) has announced it is broadening its European platform with the opening of a new office in Vienna.

The company has hired real estate expert Martin Sabelko to manage the Austrian operations, which currently encompass around €600 mln of real estate assets.

'Together with Dr Martin Sabelko, we are already planning to further expand our investment in office, retail and hotel assets,' commented Andreas Schultz, managing director of Warburg-HIH Invest with responsibility for International Transaction Management.

Sabelko is a doctor of law and has almost 30 years of real estate industry experience, which he primarily gained in Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Most recently, the 58-year old manager served as managing partner with the hoigroup. He also served as managing director at CBRE Global Investors Central Europe, Sabcon and DTZ Zadelhoff.

Similarly to Warburg-HIH Invest's other regional offices in Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Poland, the new Vienna office will also offer long-term transaction and asset management services. 'Across Europe, we have identified a series of attractive opportunities for appropriate transactions and investments, each of which will enable us to satisfy the yield expectations and quality demands of our investors,' said Alexander Eggert, managing director of Warburg-HIH Invest.
