The new CEO of Belgian office REIT Befimmo, Jean-Philip Vroninks, is set to begin his mandate with the firm on 1 June after pledging to confront 'the challenges the sector faces'.
Commented Vroninks: 'I am very happy to join Befimmo. Since my nomination, I have had the opportunity to meet many of my colleagues. It's an extraordinary company with solid foundations and a team of highly qualified professionals, the best in their field.
'I am ready to take on the challenges that the sector faces and to start, together with the whole team, this new page in the history of Befimmo. I will devote all my energy to establishing Befimmo as the benchmark real-estate company in Belgium and Luxembourg, in the interests of our customers, our employees and our shareholders.
Vroninks has several years of experience at Citibank in Brussels and KPMG in London, and joined the capital markets department of King Sturge in Belgium in 2003.
In 2009, he was promoted to managing director and, after the merger of King Sturge and JLL in 2011, became the head of the Belux capital markets team. At the beginning of 2017, he became the executive director of JLL in Belgium and Luxembourg. From 2020, he was head of capital markets Benelux at JLL.
Vroninks succeeds Benoît De Blieck, who remains non-executive director of Befimmo until the expiry of his mandate in April 2022.
