French construction giant Vinci Immobilier has kicked off the development of a mixed-use complex in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The project is located in the new Rive Gauche district of Paris and will consist of 13,500 m[sup]2[/sup] of retail and office space. The site was bought from Semapa, a public-private partnership for the management of the city of Paris.

On completion, Vinci will sell 9,200 m2 in the property to the French institutional investors CIPAV (Caisse Interprofessionnelle de Prévoyance et d’Assurance Vieillesse) and IRCEC (Institution de Retraite Complémentaire de l’Enseignement et de la Création). Designed by architect Francis Soler, the HQE-labelled building is due for completion in 2011.
