The VIA Outlets joint venture has acquired Designer Outlet Landquart in Switzerland in an off-market transaction from Dutch banking group ING.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Landquart is a municipality situated 105 kilometres east of the Swiss federal capital Berne. The outlet centre comprises more than 90 stores with over 20,000 m2 of retail space.
VIA Outlets is a joint venture backed by UK REIT Hammerson, Dutch pension fund asset manager APG, European retail asset manager Meyer Bergman and European outlet centre specialist Value Retail.
Since the creation of VIA Outlets, which initially acquired Batavia Stad in Amsterdam and Fashion Arena in Prague, the partnership has invested €300 mln to create a portfolio of over 140,000 m2 of retail space and in excess of 500 stores. VIA Outlets said it is committed to the development and growth of the centre.
The sale of Designer Outlet Landquart was carried out by ING Real Estate & Other, the unit leading the wind-down and disposal of the bank's real estate development activities.
