Valad Europe, the diversified real estate investment manager, has appointed Marcel Veldkamp as asset manager in the Netherlands.

Valad Europe, the diversified real estate investment manager, has appointed Marcel Veldkamp as asset manager in the Netherlands.

Reporting to Richard de Hartigh, Valad’s head of asset management for the Benelux region, Veldkamp will be responsible for managing assets in Utrecht and the east of the Netherlands.

Veldkamp has more than 12 years of asset management experience and joins Valad Europe from NSI, a listed Dutch real estate company where he was a leasing manager for three years. Prior to this, he spent four years as portfolio manager at VastNed Offices/Industrial in Rotterdam.

Mark McLaughlin, Valad Europe’s head of Benelux, commented: 'In the past 18 months, we have grown our assets under management in the Netherlands significantly with the addition of the Landmark, Equinox and Dutch Offices I & II portfolios, and we are currently working on a pipeline of new opportunities across the region.'

Valad Europe has a team of 19 people in the Benelux region, working out of its offices in Amsterdam and Luxembourg, managing €270 mln of funds, invested in around 60 assets, comprising office and industrial space, and accommodating 400 tenants.
