Unite Group, the UK's largest manager of branded student accommodation, said on Wednesday that it has secured planning approval for two London sites, which will provide a further 355 beds for students. The company will invest a total of £57.5 mln on the development of the sites.

Both projects are expected to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' standard, and are due for completion for the 2010-2011 academic year. 'London is a significant focus of Unite Group's expansion programme, and will remain a key target for our future pipeline. As one of the most undersupplied student accommodation markets in the UK there is pent up demand for our modern purpose built, safe developments,' said Jagdeep Bhogal, Unite Group's regional design & planning director.
