Irányi succeeds Henrike Waldburg, who moved up to the management board of the Hamburg-based real estate investment manager as of 1 July.

In his new role, Irányi is responsible for all investment and sales activities in the overseas markets in the Americas and Asia Pacific, as well as the UK and Ireland.

The local offices in New York, Singapore and London report to him. Irányi in turn reports directly to Martin J. Brühl, member of the Management Board and chief investment officer of Union Investment Real Estate.

Irányi started his career in 2005 as a trainee in investment management in Union Investment's real estate division.

Most recently, as head of investment management office Europe, he was responsible for the acquisition and sale of office properties in continental Europe, including the UK and Ireland.
