Known as the Mall of Scandinavia, the 100,000 m2 shopping centre is part of a large urban development scheme in Stockholm. The other elements are the new National Soccer Stadium, hotels, office space and residential schemes.
The three-storey shopping centre will have 230 shops and a garage with a total of 4,000 parking spaces. Construction is slated to begin in 2009 and to be completed in 2009.
Unibail-Rodamco has retained Benoy Architects for the project. The architectural firm has experience in the shopping centre sector, having designed the Bluewater and BullRing shopping centres in the UK and Forum Nacka in Stockholm.
Financial details of the Stockholm shopping centre project were not announced.
