ULI's 11th annual conference in Paris on 7 February has set itself the task of exploring how global trends are affecting the property market in Europe and around the world. 'The conference brings together both ULI members and non-members from all around the world to talk about the challenges and opportunities for the year ahead. For more than a decade now, we start the year by analysing events to date and to forecast future trends,' ULI Europe president William Kistler told PropertyEU.
'It is also a unique opportunity for to network and discuss the wealth of information in order to gain greater insights into developments in the industry in general, and in Europe in particular,' Kistler said.
Greg Clark, Chairman of the OECD Forum of Cities and a UK government advisor on city and regional Development, will guide the participants at the one-day conference through a fast-paced discussion on 'unlocking product and income held in public hands' and the role required from European mayors and leaders to ensure Europe's cities remain competitive.
To this end, ULI says it is bringing together seasoned real estate professionals, such as conference chair John Carrafiell, managing director of Morgan Stanley and co-head of Morgan Stanley Real Estate, and keynote speaker
John Bruton, former Irish prime minister and former president of the, ' Kistler said.
Bruton is a passionate supporter of both economic efficiency and cooperation on the continent and was elected to the Praesidium of the Convention on the Future of Europe in 2002. He will provide an overview of European economic development in light of the enlargement of the European Union and 'the prospects for Europe in the new world'.
