The Italian city of Turin, together with the Piedmont region, are seeking developers and investors for the construction of a new €400 mln teaching and research hospital urban planning project.

The project, which involves a total investment of over €600 mln, will see the development of a healthcare and clinical training centre together with a research centre in a €400 mln first phase to be implemented through a public private partnership.

In total, the masterplan envisages the creation of four new schemes, the healthcare and clinical training centre, with an area of 127,000 m2, a 10,000 m2 research centre specialised in clinical, pre-clinical and translational research, a 31,000 m2 educational facility and an 8,000 m2 residential complex.

Construction of the scheme located in the Avio-Oval area, in the southern part of Turin, is forecast to take up to five years, with the public authorities due to sign a 25-year on the new facilities at an annual rate of around €26 mln.
