Trammell Crow, the US company aggressively building a logistics team in Europe, has made another hire in the shape of Maite Inglis.
Inglis, who previously worked for P3 Logistics Park and Prologis, is joining as operations director of France and Benelux.
Trammell Crow’s European operations are now in Spain, the UK, Czech Republic, Poland and France, with operations in Germany opening later this year.
Ian Worboys was the first hire, joining the Dallas, Texas-based firm in February to launch the region.
Since then, Mike Forster has joined as head of UK, and Thierry Bougeard as head of Iberia.
In PropertyEU’s inaugural Logistics Watch magazine published in June, Worboys spoke of why Europe is so compelling for global capital.
‘There have been some important changes,’ he said. ‘Covid-19 has been a big e-commerce driver, ‘The UK was always the strongest in Europe for e-commerce penetration, with other countries far behind. Now the UK’s e-commerce penetration has doubled – as has everyone else’s.’
The pandemic has also created further shifts, Worboys noted. ‘Another thing we are seeing is the request to bring manufacturing back to Eastern Europe. Supply chains from China to Europe were broken during the pandemic. Whether they fully move manufacturing back or just a part, it will change the Central and Eastern European (CEE) landscape.’
Trammell Crow Company, known as TCC for short, was looking to expand into the sector in Europe for the last three or four years.’
‘I offered them an “oven-ready” solution. TCC bought Telford Homes in October 2019, so they already had a footprint in the UK in the BtR sector. It’s helpful to me that there is another TCC arm which has already taken its first steps here.’
Inglis will assist in the firm’s industrial logistics development and investment initiatives in France and Benelux including all aspects of the development and investment process, economic analysis of land and asset acquisitions, capital structuring, market research, feasibility analysis, due diligence, leasing and disposition.
Worboys said: ‘With over 20 years of experience specializing in industrial built-to-suit developments, Maite has extensive experience of all types of logistics distribution hubs, including chilled, cross dock, pharmaceutical, light industrial, last-mile, multi-tenanted and XXL distribution centers, having developed more than 8 million m2 throughout the region.’
Prior to joining TCC, she was operations director for France and Benelux for P3 Logistics Park and held various leadership roles at Prologis France and Gazeley Properties.
