Paris-based BNP Paribas Real Estate is the leading player in its home market France in terms of transaction advisory and ranks among the top 3 in Germany, according to PropertyEU's latest Top Brokers ranking.
In the UK it trails in 8th position with a string of Anglo-Saxon players dominating the league in Europe’s largest real estate investment market. CBRE tops the UK line-up, ranks 2nd in Germany and 4th in France after Catella/Strutt & Parker in 3rd position. JLL is nr 1 in the German market and the only broker with a position in the top 3 in each of Europe’s three biggest markets.
Cushman & Wakefield makes it into the top 5 in the UK and France. CBRE and JLL have a clear lead in the UK and are well ahead of the rest of the pack with transaction volumes that are more than double those of their nearest contenders.
The differences between number 3 to 8 is far less extreme although BNP Paribas remains a clear laggard. According to figures submitted by Savills, the London-based company has a strong position as an adviser on smaller deals of under €20 mln. Including these deals, Savills advised on just over €26 bn of transactions in the UK during 2014.
