Dutch mail company TNT said on Thursday that it had selected Dutch 'ethical' bank Triodos Group and developer OVG to implement the firms' green buildings initiative. TNTsaid its new head office in the Dutch town of Hoofddorp will be the first of several green offices to be built across the Netherlands. The head office will be operational in 2010.

The Triodos-OVG consortium will invest EUR 300 mln in the construction of five offices across the Netherlands. The total portfolio will comprise around 70,000 m2 of sustainable office space, TNT said, adding that it will rent its new head office at a rate comparable or lower than its current rented head office in Hoofddorp.
Triodos and OVG will built and manage offices for TNT that are guaranteed to be 100% CO2 neutral during the entire exploitation period. Triodos Group and OVG will be jointly responsible for the sustainable design, construction, management, investment and asset management of TNT’s green offices.
