The project was put forward by Rotterdam-based developer OVG and McMahon Development Group Europe (MDG). The plan called for the development of 80,000 to 100,000 m2 of retail space and was to include restaurants, cafes, exhibition space, conference facilities and in- and outdoor sports facilities.
The megamall concept has so far failed to get off the ground in the Netherlands. A similar project by developer Bouwfonds MAB planned for Geldermalsen also failed to gain approval.
