The Thielemann Group is spending €30 mln to build a new, eco-friendly logistics centre in Wernberg-Köblitz, Bavaria.
The 53,000 m2 property will be built according to the gold standard set by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
The tenant will be the Recht Logistik Group, which will use the centre to handle complex logistics for home tools and electrical trade customers. This will be the group’s fourteenth location in Germany.
The sustainability features planned for the centre include a photovoltaic system on the roof, electric charging stations for forklifts, Smart LED lighting, modern social and office spaces, and landscaping of the property.
Construction work will begin this year and the centre is expected to start operations in Q2 2025.
Konrad Kiener, first major of Wernberg-Köblitz, said: ‘Our West II commercial and industrial area offers ideal connections to the Munich and Nuremberg metropolitan regions via the A93, A3, A6 and A9 motorways as well as perfect access to the Central and Eastern European markets.’
Navid Thielemann, CEO of the Thielemann Group, commented: ‘The conditions are optimal: the property is already developed and development plans are in place. Sustainability plays a big role for us, especially in the development and subsequent operation of our new logistics centre.’
Christian Karl Flick, CEO of the Recht Logistik Group, added: ‘We are creating a range of state-of-the-art logistics services with which we will open up the Bavarian market. We are confident that we will win new customers here too, whose projects we will implement efficiently and with high quality in the new logistics property.’
